The epicenter is expected to reach an area of about 1,200 square kilometers (350 square miles) at its epicenter.
The U.S. Geological Survey said Tuesday that the quake is centered at a depth of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and is centered in the Pacific Ocean.
It’s still unclear exactly what caused the quake, which happened about 30 seconds after the quake began.
The Associated Press reported that the U.K.’s Office for National Statistics said that about 80,000 people are still without power.
